I first got a honeycomb cat litter mat 1 1/2-2 years ago. (different brand) I can't tell you how many loose pieces of cat litter ended up outside of the utility cupboard where the trays are kept. My husband sometimes walks around the house barefoot. If I got a dime every time he stepped on a piece of kitty litter and yelled. rzunimag. So I bought a cat litter mat and it solved the problem perfectly. No more cat litter outside the box. But there was a problem. The honeycomb holes in this mat are small. So individual pieces of cat litter would get stuck in these holes, to the point where I had to take a butter knife or pencil and pry out each piece that got stuck. Using a hose or vacuum didn't help either. At some point I got fed up and ordered a Lajas cat litter mat. The honeycomb holes are bigger than the first rug, and all I have to do is turn the rug upside down and shake it a little, and filler pieces will fall out of the honeycomb holes, or vacuum the rug and they'll suck right up . No more pushing stuck cat litter out of the mat one by one! The rug is very durable and stays in place without slipping on the floor. Neither of our two cats fusses or walks on the mat to get in or out of the litter box. It's also easy to clean, I just hosed it down to remove dust from the pantry it was kept in. (There have been no accidents involving cats, so I can't comment on how well the urine goes.) I didn't notice any odor from the rubber material, so it wasn't a problem. I am happy with this rug. . It works great and there wasn't a single kitty litter in the hallway. Works perfectly. Recommended for cat owners!
