We had just got a puppy and she was only about 3 months old ( and 2 lbs) while she was doing good with pee pads we were traveling from FL to TX and staying with family who has carpet .icky for dog accidents.so I got the diapers to keep accidents in car and at their house to a minimum.These were easy to use, they stay on and are fairly adjustable , the absorb well and her coat was never "wet", her coat was at the time about 2 inches in length and these cause no issues. I used pet wipes in between each diaper change also. I used them mainly at night and when we left her alone for outings. Otherwise I left them off and supervised her so her skin could get air. Would recommend and repurchased if necessary.
