Review on Moonlight Slumber Comfort Support Pillow by Matt Duffy

Ideal for recovering from hip surgery

I was looking for some sort of support pillow because I had torn a ligament in my hip and was suffering from chronic hip pain. I could never sleep well at night because of the pain. I saw several people raving about this pillow and decided to buy it 3 weeks before my hip surgery. Before the operation, I was able to sleep a little better at night with this pillow. Post surgery oh my god I love this pillow. It's amazing and I can use it in so many ways to feel comfortable and take the pressure off my hips. I've read other comments about the seam in the pillow at the top of the U being uncomfortable. While I agree, this pillow has many other options. I can't sleep without a down pillow. So I already know that sleeping on the round part is not an option for me. This is how I make the most of this pillow. I sleep with it in a U shape, not in shape. The round part is on the bottom so I can put my down pillows between the two straight parts. It works great this way. Then when I need extra support under my knee I flex one of the sides under my knee for a great foot pad. Since the incisions are on my right thigh, I usually sleep on my left side or back and have absolutely no problem turning over, even with the round part underneath. I'm 5ft 6in so sleeping that way isn't a problem. I bend my knees easily and sleep with my feet on the bottom of the U-shape or on the edge of the bed. I agree that I would like a regular satin, jersey or other material pillowcase for this. I'm going to ask a friend who has a planter to make one as it won't be too difficult. To the seller (manufacturer of this pillow) if you made really good pillowcases for this pillow I'm sure you would sell a ton! I would choose a soft excellent fabric for example! Also, people complained that the material was too warm. Yes I see it but I live in Seattle and it's 30 degrees and it's raining right now. The warmth of the pillow keeps me warm at night. In the summer I saw that this is a problem. Again, using a different type of fabric on the pillow (make your own cover) will solve this problem. I really like this pillow and it makes my recovery from surgery so much easier. I can't give you any feedback on using it during pregnancy, but if your goal is to take the pressure off your hips and joints then this is a great option! Like it a lot!
