Plug and play worked with my gen 1 switch. Upload speed is slightly faster and download speed is much faster than over Wi-Fi. Automatically switches between wired and Wi-Fi. The cable is long enough to fit snugly in the switch dock. The gigabit hub says it's connected to 1000base T, but it's hard to tell as download speeds from the switch don't seem to go above 100MB/s. Comparison.
