Review on Rugged Armor A15 1TB 2.5-Inch USB 3.0 Drop Tested MIL-STD-810F Military Grade External Hard Drive, Black - CDHGTJTYL SP010TBPHDA15S3K by Hideo Ebara ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A good product, more pros than cons.

In general, 85% of the work of this device is satisfied. I have never had to reformat it, restore it, I have not lost a single megabyte of information, BUT, from the first days of purchase, such "miracles" began to happen to it with its installation when connected to a PC, namely: 1. After rebooting the computer, if he remained in the port, then the system will not see him, you need to reconnect - this is his main jamb and permanent! 2. In some Operating Systems (OS) it is defined either as usb2.0 or NOT at all! I have MS WS 2022 at work and there is just such a story, of course this does not add enthusiasm when working with it! 3. On the site of these SPs, I did not find any firewood for this model of the device, as if they were not aware of the existence of such problems at all. That is, the main thing is to sell, and at least the grass does not grow there! It is heated moderately, it does not make much noise, a quiet clatter is heard inside when the disk is spinning. I decided to supplement my review and increase the rating of the gadget by one. In recent years, I connected it to the W10 with zero problems at all. Plus, the device was repeatedly repartitioned, into sections of different formats, with an active bootable first partition, that is, it was used quite actively and never failed.

Pros
  • Design is the most important advantage. (I meant the silicone case, although it doesn’t protect anything, it’s nice to hold it in your hands) Trouble-free operation for more than 5 years! When connected and visible in USB 3.0 mode - excellent speed!
Cons
  • Not all PCs and OSs are identified as USB 3.0. In some OS it is not defined at all! There is a button that either lights up red or blue, depending on the USB 2.0 or 3.0 operating mode, but nothing happens when pressed, that is, it's just a diode, and the button's function is not connected to anything - why? When rebooting on some PCs, it must be reconnected again, since it is not automatically detected in the system.

Bought recently, but already fully appreciated its merits. Seagate hard drive inside. On USB 3.0 it works fine, on a laptop the copy speed was up to 70 Mb / s. It's a bit big to carry around in my pocket, but I always carry my purse, so it's not a problem.

Buy. The flaws are not too noticeable.

With its pros. I have been using it for 4 years without problems, although there were falls, I did not notice any lags or loss of information. Different cons: The rubber cover began to peel off, I had to glue it with double-sided tape from the inside)
