Let me start by saying that I have been using Garmin devices for over 10 years. I chose this model to upgrade the rear camera which I will buy later. I set it up and everything went fine. I travel to Chicago for work 5 days a week and rely on the traffic function to get around. As I sit on the I 90 and drive into town, I check the GPS and notice that I'm not getting traffic alerts like I did on my old GPS. Back home I called Garmin Tech Support to see if I missed a setting or something. After about 45 minutes on the phone they realized the power cord was not working properly and sent me a new one free of charge. I loved it. 4 days later got a new power cable and connected it. I thought the problem was solved. nope Now I get interim reports from time to time. I said I'll live with it. Then I buy a BC 30 reversing camera and install it. The place I took it, I've been going to them for every upgrade for over 20 years, I've taken all my cars there from adding fog lights to remote start to new stereos, never had a problem. I was first that morning and was told the installation would take about an hour or less, so I waited. After about 45 minutes they call me at the store and say that the GPS is not receiving a signal from the camera. With the camera still installed in my car they produce a new and exactly the same GPS module and it picks up the signal with no problems. I called Garmin to tell them the bad news about my GPS and that's when things got really interesting. I take them to tech support for about an hour and then they tell me to send them a GPS module. After 3 ½ weeks I get it back, it's the same device with the same serial numbers. I put it in the car and still no camera signal. I call Garmin again and they tell me it's my power cord. Here we are again on the same road. New power cable but no signal. I'm trying to get a new GPS head unit from them because I know that's the problem. 4 months later still no luck.
