Review on Honeywell HEPA Air Purifier Filter for HPA050/150, HPA060 🌬️ & HPA160 Series - Get Cleaner and Fresher Indoor Air by Steve Griffin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Significantly improves air quality.

Honeywell makes excellent HEPA filters. I have a short black HPA-050 air purifier in my bedroom and it's on all the time. I have allergies all year round and I honestly don't understand how I went without an air purifier next to my bed for so long. I have no doubt that this filter really does the job. Once I turn off the air purifier, the bedroom gets pretty stuffy and I wake up the next day with a stuffy nose. The price of this filter is very cheap and it lasts quite a long time. If you want it to last even longer I highly recommend using a carbon pre-filter with it. Don't skip this part. On one occasion when changing the HEPA filter I didn't put in a charcoal pre-filter (I thought I had a spare at home but turns out I didn't have one) and the HEPA wore out significantly faster. Honeywell sells activated carbon pre-filters, but I think they're overpriced, so I suggest looking at Revain for a large activated carbon filter sheet and just cutting it down to the right size for your air purifier. So you get a lot more bang for your buck and it extends the life of the HEPA filter and blocks extra odors and whatnot.

Pros
  • EFFICIENT AIR CLEANING AND CIRCULATION - Honeywell air purifier with Honeywell certified filter filters and recirculates the air up to 5 times per hour in a room of the specified size.** Replace the HEPA filters once a year. Pre-filters used with this filter are sold separately.
Cons
  • Expensive
