We originally came here looking for the more traditional 52oz red and white melamine bowls with the 'Long Life' symbol to match the two we already have . We recently started making our own version of Asian soup at home and it took over 2 large soup bowls to feed everyone. I found these bowls and really fell in love with the classic restaurant colors of black and red and the fact that it comes in a set of 4 bowls, spoons and chopsticks. While the actual capacity you can fill the bowls with is about 40 ounces, this is perfect for a meal-size soup (about the size of a regular-sized plate of ramen or pho served at a restaurant). During the pandemic we have had take away food many times. They give you pasta, egg whites, veggies and broth separately. You put all this in a bowl at home and fill it up with broth. A bowl this size is perfect for everything including basil, cilantro, scallions and bean sprouts. The chopsticks have a grippy texture on the tips, which made me an experienced chopstick user. It was a nice, unexpected bonus. The chopsticks, spoon and bowl go together perfectly and look great on the dining table. Remember that melamine is not microwave safe but can be washed in the dishwasher. They're also great for other things like salad and popcorn. Also on the lid of the box is a "secret" recipe for making ramen eggs. There was a recipe on the shipping label so we had to carefully peel off the label to open the recipe and we're going to try the recipe this week. If you're looking for a set of eye-catching ramen bowls that are the perfect size, get these! (The same company appears to have a similar set of large 57-ounce black ramen bowls.)
