Review on πŸ’» HP Thunderbolt Dock 120W - Universal USB-C Docking Station with HDMI Adapter (Model 6HP48AA) by Daniel Anderson

I'm glad I stopped saving money and just got this

. I have an HP Specter x360 15-bl0XX Convertible. It's a few years old but it still works. I've tried a number of different budget docks, but none of them could do what they do so well: bring an extended desktop to two 1440p monitors. All that budget stuff had pretty terrible limitations: either they were only allowed to use one high-resolution screen and then the other had to be very low, or they went beyond 1080p, etc. They also felt buggy and seemed to tax my CPU.computer. This one works without any issues, no troubleshooting, no firmware updates, etc. There is one silly thing though: my HP Specter model has a couple of ports with small lightning bolt symbols, but you have to look very carefully. Some of them are simple symbols for the "power" of lightning, but one is actually the "thunderer" symbol. It's a USB-C port alongside an HDMI port. Thunderbolt docks will not function properly unless connected to that specific port. My only complaint is that I wish it had more USB ports. It's really easy to get the most out of it with a mouse button, a wired keyboard, a webcam, and a few smart device chargers. I can end up with a dumb USB hub to connect to this thing.
