Over the years I have used many hair dryers and the Conair 1875 is the first I have found that has a special cold air setting in addition to the high temperature. low and off. Cooling means that the heating element does not turn on when the dryer is on and blowing air. It performs well and switches from hot to cold easily. The only flaw is the switch itself. There is a little "play" - it moves a little. How long will this transition take? Who knows. I have been using this hair dryer since mid-August - 2 months. Nice. So good. I will update in a few months. UPDATE 12/21/2018 Well a few months now 4 months later so I love this hair dryer. I shower every day and use this hair dryer - Conair 1875 Turbo - every day. I love the fact that I can switch from hot to cold (room temperature) air by simply flipping a switch from hot to cold in a nanosecond. So far, so good!
