As a severely disabled golfer I think the UPL100 golf rangefinder is perfect for the beginner golfer. I'm not willing to spend $300-$500 on gaming accessories, but I still need to know how far away the flag is without constantly asking my friends. The UPL100 is perfect for me as sometimes I'm not in my golf bag and want to have it with me at all times while playing rather than putting it in my bag and taking it out when needed. Unlike people with moderate/low disabilities, sometimes I have to leave my golf bag behind and find my ball and hit it off the fairway. I don't want to find my golf ranger while finding my ball. :-). Lightweight and compact (about the size of the credit card shown in the photo), this product fits perfectly around my waist without getting in the way of the swing. A friend of mine who recommended Bushnell or Nikon to me and uses the V5 himself is now jealous that I found out about this product. The UPL100 is almost half the price but still does a good job, detecting the flag quickly, adjusting tilt and calibrating jitter well, giving a result very similar to those expensive rangefinders. I also googled further before deciding to buy. Based on my ability to understand Korean, I learned that the UPL100 was highly praised by many Korean users and was actually one of the best sellers in the South Korean market in the range finder category. Now I fully understand why this kit was able to become #1 in South Korea. Price and quality are very well balanced. The appearance of this product does not correspond to that of the country where this product is actually manufactured. I was able to compare it to the product in the photo I uploaded (to show the size of the kit). Although the maker of this product is probably not familiar with the US market, I knew the name of this company as they are well known and have some reputation in South Korea. When I received and tested the kit, I immediately realized that I wasn't wrong. I'm also glad I didn't buy a cheap plastic product as the look and feel of these types of devices is important to me. If you are rich buy the mentioned product for $300-$400 which is definitely better than this for what you pay. However, if you are a person who doesn't care so much about the logo or the brand but cares about the balance between price and quality, I would definitely recommend this product. If you have never heard of this product from your friends, a Google search for "Fine Digital, Inc" may provide you with certainty as to who the manufacturer of this product is.
