Review on πŸ‘Ÿ Ultimate Performance: Mizuno Women's Wave Horizon 5 Running Shoe by Rafael Gomez

BEST shoe for stability, overpronation

These shoes are amazingly stable! I'm 5'11, 159 pounds and this is a women's size 11 (standard width or B). My size is a 10 1/2 but I always go for a size 11. I have a medium arch and instep. Healing width is narrow/medium, bunion width is narrow (according to my foot scan :)). If you have a wide foot, the standard B width won't work. I first bought a gray pair from a sneaker store and after trying on 12 pairs of shoes I knew they were winners! I am a nurse who is on hard floors all day so good shoes are a must. These shoes are perfect! I overpronate from a (soft) impact in my knees so I have internal rotation of the hip, knee and foot on both legs. It makes me very unstable and causes lower body pain without really good stabilizing shoes. These shoes fully stabilize my foot and provide motion control (prevent overpronation and/or rotation of my ankles). I wear orthotics and they fit perfectly! I didn't have to break these shoes either. I just wore them out of the box with my inserts. The insole is too stiff in my opinion and doesn't provide enough arch support if you have an arch. EASY to fix with some insoles and worth having such a great shoe! I don't like unlacing my shoes, so I replaced the laces on my gray pair with elastic laces. Yay for quick dressing and undressing! Plan to buy a pair for these shoes as well. They enclose the ankle with a nice collar with a padded heel. It stands high enough that the heel does not slip or rub. The tongue is soft, long enough, does not rub. I find that many shoes have an uncomfortable heel and tongue. I posted a photo showing the right lace is tight and the left a little loose. Hopefully this shows how he can accommodate other legs. It really follows the contours of your leg once you put it on. The finger box isn't very roomy, but my fingers have enough room to spread them and they don't rub; my little belly too (I know I have a lot of leg problems! Haha). Buying shoes online is VERY difficult. I searched for hours and ended up going to a specialty store to try it on and have it scanned. If you like flexible shoes with lots of flex, this shoe is not for you. If you need support from heel to toe, then this shoe is for you. Hope that helps!
