Review on Jakemy 39-in-1 Precision Screwdriver Set for iPhone, MacBook, PC and More - Magnetic Tips and 36 Bits Included by Michael Daniels

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The first was broken. replacement is good.

Overall rating based on current (November 27, 2019) unreduced price ($54) and my experience with a working electric screwdriver replacement kit. Information about the faulty screwdriver is shown below. This rating refers to the electric screwdriver JM-Y02. The pros and cons will be brief as I felt Matthew Carrell's best positive review and Peon the Great's best critical review were exactly what I wanted to say. Note that there are some older manual screwdriver reviews listed on the same page, so take a look. Pros: - Adjustable torque settings - Housing Cons: - Not enough common bits. Two slotted and one cross drill, 1.5 mm = #000. For the amount of torque this screwdriver can generate, it can easily drive larger precision Phillips head screws. Too many special attachments. Some of them are so small that I wouldn't trust an electric screwdriver even with minimal torque. This leads to an uncomfortable gripping of the screwdriver. For the unreduced price of $54 at the time of writing, I wouldn't buy this screwdriver. If it were in the $35 range I would consider it, but run into the problem of not having common bits. And if I didn't already have these bits, I would pay more to get a kit that adds to the overall price. So, here's the catch as to why I bought it anyway. I got this electric screwdriver when Revain had a 20% off offer and an extra coupon on top to bring the price down to $15. With discounts, it was much easier to try this electric screwdriver because of its novelty. ------------------ The defective screwdriver came with an empty battery. When charging, it matched the advertised battery capacity of 800mAh. In anticipation of a replacement, I did not touch the screwdriver for two days, and when I received a replacement, I went to compare the screwdrivers, the first one did not turn so quickly. There seems to be something causing the battery to drain when not in use. The forward key (CW) was not good. The plastic rocker you push on rubs against the metal frame, causing it to get stuck and keep the motor running until you push on the back end. The micro switch button itself was no longer good. You could hear the switch making contact with something, but the motor didn't turn until you pushed harder. If you've ever had a bad left or right click, it's exactly the same. The rotating end was a lot shakier than a good replacement. And since it's bent a bit to let it rock, even when fully charged, the revs seem lower than a good replacement.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
