Extremely rough, abrasive

I have bought many cast iron houses. This is my first non-Lodd cast iron since Lodge discontinued the 14 inch pizza pan. However, I was surprised at how rough the surface is. The lodge is dingy, but this one is much hotter. Like medium grit sandpaper for glass. like you could cut yourself by running your hand over it. I figured this pan would be flexible enough to be used on the stovetop, in the oven, or on the grill. I don't even think about putting it on our glass cooktop. It's like sharp sandpaper with a weight on it. This can be normal if you are not using a glass hob. We use all of our homes on our glass cooktop and it's smooth enough. I once actually had to grind down the spur at the bottom of the pan with a dremel. I also had a stainless steel pan that was scratched and had spurs that really scratched our glass. Another issue is that Legend's instructions say you have to manually season this pan 3 times in the oven for several hours of smoking each time. We did that sometimes for our Lodge pans, but never had to when we first bought them. Just not having to season the pan before use makes it less valuable to me.
