Being in a deep well I have no problem removing chemicals from my water and I have no odd taste or smell elements like sulfur or iron ; However, I deal with a lot of mud that is not harmful to my body, it just shortens the life of equipment like coffee makers and other devices that use water. I've used bottled water and filter jugs for my coffee maker in the past, but it can really add money, and it can be a hassle, especially when I'm on the go. So I was excited to try this under the sink filtration system. The first thing that struck me when reviewing this system was how easy it was to change out the filter cartridges. Everything is accessible and requires no tools to change the filter. The systems I had installed in my previous homes were sealed and had to be disassembled to get to the cartridges, and one even required a special key to swap them out. God forbid I ever lose that key. The next thing I noticed was that pretty much everything I needed to install was included, the only thing missing was Teflon tape which is optional as I don't have to remove the system for any reason or reason. - In this case I want to use teflon tape on the faucet threads. I also needed a special wrench to get to the faucet, which wasn't on the "Tools Required" list in the installation guide. The wrench isn't unique to this setup; Rather, it's a tool that every homeowner should have in their toolbox, as faucets will loosen over time and will need to be tightened as part of normal home maintenance. One thing that impressed me about this system was how easy it was to install. . Plumbing lines are color-coded to avoid confusion, and as long as one person can work with a wrench, screwdriver, and drill, they can install this system. What I noticed the most is that the system shuts down when it can no longer filter the water adequately. All other water filtration systems I've used or researched rely on the user to either remember the filter change interval or remind them to check some type of sensor. I'm busy and I have a million other things on my mind so I always forget. The last thing I want to mention is that Britta is a giant in the water filtration industry. This is important to me as some of the best filtration system deals come from companies that may no longer exist by the time I need to change filters - this happened to me so I know first hand. When I installed this system I was confident that the exact replacement cartridges I needed would be available for years to come. This alone makes this water filtration system worth considering.
