Hope this never gets tested I bought a ground clip from a blue shop that starts with an L so I can get a nice solid connection to the ground wire, that's about 2 feet from the 8 foot ground rod. The ground wire is 8 gauge and attaches to the ground rod with a ground clamp. From there it goes to the coax ground block and through the ground lug and onto the down conductor. Use the grounding clamps instead of the small grommet provided, a real lightning strike will burn right through this grommet leaving you ungrounded before the discharge is over.
