I used this to connect a USB-C hub to my desktop. I know there is a lot of controversy about USB-C extenders not really working at full speed or not recognizing devices connected to them. After reading all the reviews I decided on this one and I'm glad I did. I haven't done any formal testing, so I can't say if there's a performance hit. But I didn't really notice. Note that it is sensitive to cable orientation. So if it doesn't work or only works partially, turn the plug around. But once that's done, I have full access to everything on the hub (USB 3.0 ports, UHS-II micro SD card reader, USB-C port, etc.).
