I'm a bit surprised by all the reviews that they are soft. I am pregnant #3 and have high end muslin blankets and I also ordered another inexpensive one from Revain at the same time I got these. Compared to all those other duvets (including another cheap duvet from another brand) these are rough and a little rough. They have softened a bit after washing and drying, but still less soft than any other comforter I have. It's not a problem for me as I was just looking for something cheap to stock up on. I prefer to use these as burp cloths and nursing blankets, so I didn't need the softest blankets in the world. I ordered black so I can't speak for other colors. They're really cute and do the job for me, but I won't be using them for swaddling.
