Review on 🔨 Camco 42613 3" x 15' Awning Patch Tape by Donnell Cursed

What happens when a 2 year old $10,000 motorized retractable awning snaps at the edge and the manufacturer doesn't respond? They either replace the entire panel at high cost or look for alternatives. I chose Camco awning repair tape. Installation was a bit tricky as our awning is motorised, meaning it is spring loaded and requires careful engineering to create slack in the tarpaulin to attach the tape. Since the tear was on one of the side edges, after cleaning the surface with alcohol, I stuck the tape to both sides of the awning. Then I put an equal amount of tape on the opposite side so the awning retracts and unrolls without moving. Since the tent is under tension, I was concerned that the tape would not hold. It was open for a limited time and closed after refurbishment, this was not a problem. It's winter now so we probably won't be using the tent until next spring, but barring a surprise I assume the refurbishment will last. highlighted.
