This is the ideal number of thermal pads for the XFX RX 580 8GB and the ideal thickness is 1mm. It is enough to have about 2 additional GDDR5 modules. So if you have a 10GB card that uses 512MB modules it will be EXACTLY. the right amount. So for the 8GB RX 580 I used 80% thermal pads and 20% in case of failure. This thermal pad immediately lowered my memory temperatures and memory artifact issues were gone as well. The thermal pads on my GPU were junk and OLD jigsaw pieces put together and crushed. I recommend these uncompressed thermal pads to anyone with a card more than a few years old.
