I used Mylar blankets before I found them to be good for various survival purposes like warmth, reflection and signaling. I didn't have it to hand last winter when we went 8 days with no water, sanitation or heating and temperatures dropped to 3F or -17C. It wasn't fun. While a few survival blankets wouldn't have made it a vacation, for the time without them, living in a 40F or 4C house would have been far more comfortable. That's why I ordered them. They arrived in a much better case than expected, with each duvet individually wrapped. Please see the photo of the cover with a pouch removed and the quilt on the outside of the pouch. This is a hard case with a carabiner to attach it so you don't lose it. The bags are also reusable and close with a drawstring. All in all, this is a great presentation. I've never been able to fold one of these blankets for reuse, but will definitely try them if we have to use them. If not, then this is a great case for a variety of purposes - survival or not. Please note that duvets are cellophane wrapped. A few weeks ago we had a flat tire. Luckily it was in the city so there was no tragedy but it made us aware that we live in the country where it can get quite cold. We decided to put two of these in the car for unforeseen situations on the road. It's a great thing to hope you never use it.
