I had another brand and when the probe wore out they didn't offer a replacement option. Taylor does. After using this product for about 5 months, it does its job perfectly. I checked the readings from this thermometer with another one and they match the other's level of accuracy. I have an issue with its design, but too many people take points off for what they should have seen when looking at the thermometer. I don't want pictures or comments. I wish they had built a spindle into the unit to wrap the cord (like the other brand does) that would make storage easier. I have a piece of advice for all users of this type of product. consists in wrapping the part of the cord that comes out of the oven (especially if it's a toaster) in foil. This will prevent the wire insulation from being melted by the hot metal of the door.
