This is a really well made and durable item. It should only be used with a harness, NOT a COLLAR. The two problems this product solves are (1) letting your dog sit and secure in the event of a frontal collision and (2) preventing the seat belt horn from blaring continuously if you have a large dog. However, an anchor point at the dog's feet means the dog can become confused as it spins in circles. This can happen when using the hook on the chest of your harness or on your back. While this product does exactly what it is designed to do, I would not recommend it or any other product to perform in the same way. Instead, I tie the leash to the seat's headrest and attach it to the rear seatbelt hook. Now my dog has more freedom of movement and can no longer get tangled in the harness.
