Wow. These shelves exceeded my expectations by a mile. They're totally intuitive to put together - I put them together in minutes by pulling each piece out of a well-wrapped box. I have to say it was a fun experience bringing them together. I now have three shelves of this type and I think they are excellent value for money. They don't suit every interior, but if it's at all eclectic they will, especially if you like an "industrial" look. They are very unique and eye-catching. The "pipes" used are copied from industrial pipes and fittings, but the strong strength is retained. The shelves are not veneer, but solid panels lacquered on one side. They are very strong and stay that way even after tightening. Just three observations: 1.) When screwing pipe threads into a socket, they tend to "squeak". A drop of oil on the threads before assembly solves this problem and protects the steel threads. 2.) It is very important to use adjustable feet to level the shelves after installation for safety reasons. 3.) If you have hardwood floors, consider stuffing the bottom of your foot. They are damp and can scratch the surface of the wooden floor. Dragging shelves can also be a problem as they need to be lifted and carried, not dragged. I am very happy with my 3 purchases and am a very happy customer.
