Review on πŸ“Ά Enhance Wireless Connectivity with Proxicast 4G / LTE Cross-Polarized (MIMO) High-Gain Panel Antenna by Dewitt Graham

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Proxicast 4G/LTE Cross-Polarized was a good solution for me

Bought for rural use for a metal roofed log cabin about 2 miles from nearest LTE tower but no direct line of sight from - for the terrain and forests (I live in the Pacific Northwest - lots of large spruce). I connected this antenna to a MOFI4500-4GXeLTE-SIM7-COMBO 4G/LTE router connected with a 25ft coax twin cable. With no Proxicast connected to the router, I got signal strength in the range of -110dB inside the house and about -103dB outside at the ground level. After the Proxicast was fitted and mounted at about 10 feet, the signal strength improved to the -95dB range after taking the time to route it to the tower. With this relatively small change, I was able to achieve a much more stable connection and significantly faster download and upload speeds. With the MOFI4500 inside against a window and using a standard antenna, I ran tests with speedtest.net and got download speeds of 9-10Mbps and upload speeds of 1-2Mbps. It was fine for emails etc but not for video calling or watching movies. After setting up and optimally configuring Proxicast, I got download speeds in the 45-50 Mbps range and upload speeds between 10-15 Mbps.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Some minor issues
