This is a good RO-DI system for people who don't need to produce a ton of water. We make about 20-25 gallons a week and that's great for this purpose. You'll know when production is slowing down and it's time to make a change. Usually we have it faster than 6 months but we have very bad tap water. As others have pointed out, don't throw away old cartridges until you've removed the old connectors. They unscrew fairly easily. Replacement cartridges are not supplied, so don't make the mistake of throwing them away!
