Review on DUS710 Groovy Bambou 16In Bird by Megan Walker

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A large number of blocks is best when restored to the last.

My parrots love anything with clockwork dice. The problem with this toy is that most of the blocks are tied together with a thick paper rope. Each time one of the ropes is chewed, the entire piece falls to the ground. I collect blocks and pick them up to build a new toy. If all the toys were made with chains instead of ropes, it would last longer but would be a lot more expensive. So save the toy chains and rebuild the toy with the extra chains you have accumulated. There is a lot of wood in this toy. If it can be hung high enough that the bird can only reach the bottom of the toy, the toy will stay together longer. But a lot of my birds climb up and sort the whole thing out. In addition, this toy is huge and only fits in a giant cage. My African Grays and Alexandrians are usually given this toy. For small cages and small birds (kennels) try ZooMax's Groovy Boy. We go through many of these, but they stay together until all the wood is gone. I buy 30 bird toys and Zoo Max toys with clockwork cubes are favorites among my chewers.

Pros
  • New cool wooden blocks. Birds love to chew on the grooved part. Made of soft wood. Size: 16" x 2"
Cons
  • Slightly torn
