The user interface is cumbersome and not intuitive.

I bought this unit for use in my hangar. As soon as I opened the box and started configuring, I realized that there were a few issues. The user manual didn't contain much useful information and I had to contact Polk Technical Support for help. Pros - * Controls are highlighted and clearly visible. * Volume control is smooth and responsive - DB reading is helpful. Cons - * AM/FM antenna is not built-in and there is no external antenna connector. The antenna cable clips are flimsy and the included antennas are cumbersome to use.* It's impossible to connect an external antenna without getting creative and making something that connects. I still couldn't figure out how to connect an RG6 cable or a dual 75 ohm TV cable. Fragile antenna clips are tiny and won't fit larger cables.* No 3.5mm headphone jack or line-out. I need to take the line out signal and connect it to a speaker amplifier to connect the speakers in the hangar, workshop and office. I have no idea what hardware is used in the dock - the manual is silent on either. I'm not sure what the 3.5 connector is connected to and if it's an input or an output. Summary - The radio works but lacks flexibility. I'm disappointed with the performance but not so much that I want to return it. I am going to repurpose it for use in my garage at home. I think you get what you pay for.

Pros
  • Receiver and amplifier
Cons
  • Obsolete model
