Other screens we've had were flimsy in use; for the most part they serve their purpose. This filter is the best manual filter I have ever owned. It can be held while straining or spread on a bowl while straining. The quality is much higher than typical hand held filters and they don't bend under tension if you hold them during the process. The mesh itself is also very strong and is a fine mesh to obtain fine deformation and leave solids behind. This can of course be both a good and a bad thing as it means the straining process can be a little slower, but the strainer is deep so the liquid has more room to move while being strained. I have experience especially if you have a sink spray hose to spray it with. I would buy it again at this point. We've used it a few times and it works great and like I said it's the best filter of this type I've ever had. Worth the extra money.
