Review on Colfuline Protractor: Precision Tool 📐 for Woodworking & Construction with Neodymium Magnet by Arnold Carrigan

This level has some minor quirks but seems to work well. The first quirk I found was that the battery cover was unscrewed, not just snapped in place. A small Phillips screwdriver is required to open it. I would be unhappy if I was at a construction site and the batteries were dead and I didn't have a small Phillips screwdriver with me. The second feature was that after inserting the batteries and turning it on, the display showed "Erro". (turn around). The instructions state that this is displayed when the level deviates more than 5 degrees from horizontal during calibration. This was partially true - when I turned it on it was more than 5 degrees from horizontal, but I didn't try to calibrate it. Then I put it on a horizontal surface and turned it on and it worked like a champ and now I can turn it on from any angle and it works fine. The last feature is a feature. It has several powerful magnets inside along the base. It's great for putting the level on something made of steel to hold it in place, but it also attracts some items like screwdrivers and batteries that happen to be next to the level. Most of my work is in wood, so the magnetic property doesn't matter to me. None of these features are enough to warrant deducting a star from the rating, but a potential buyer should be aware of this. with nice zippered fabric pouch and 2 AAA alkaline batteries. It has 2 spirit levels as a backup in case the batteries run out. Accuracy seems good for any job I would do with this level (mainly woodwork, hanging pictures and other household chores). The ends are hard rubber and the extruded aluminum center has machined markings on the top and bottom to improve grip so it's not slippery. The case isn't padded, which I wasn't expecting at this price point, and care should be taken not to fall to that (or any other) level.
