Addendum to evaluation after 6-8 weeks of use: After about four weeks of use, the lamp started to light up very slowly - now it takes about 2-3 minutes the screen turns on and when that happens it is very dark. The screen flickers, then goes completely dark again for about a minute, and sometimes even turns off completely. (Occasionally I even get a warning light on the front of the TV saying the lamp is dead.) I turn the TV back on and it slowly and weakly turns back on, "but then warms up". to full brightness after another minute or so. Generally, the TV is ready in about five minutes, and after that it works fine until I turn the TV off again. Is it worth buying a lamp at literally half the price compared to other options? TV? Probably for me, but only because I'm a cheap bastard. YMMV.------- Initial Review: Only took a week; looks good so far. Replacing the lamp itself was easy, removing the faceplate from the TV was the hardest step (though still not that hard).
