My wife and I love to cook and our mission is not to waste food. Now we tend to eat "two for dinner” most of the evening, so we like to "pre-cook” some recipes like casseroles. I can split a 9 by 13 pan casserole recipe into two pans like this, and we have two handy a la carte dinners. Reduces waste and makes "leftovers" an easier option. When I saw this set of pans and lids available at VINE for testing and review at home, I was delighted. That suits our cooking style. A few tips: Check to see if these pans are recyclable in your area. They are where we live, but only if we wash them, which we usually do. If the dish cannot be "baked", you can still throw in an aluminum tray from time to time, which of course is not suitable for a glass, ceramic or metal baking dish. Pots' because it's basically heavy-duty aluminum foil. You can't grab a corner of these pans like you would a Pyrex or metal pan and safely lift the whole thing out of the oven be more careful. They're comfortable to use with two hands. You just want to remember: hey, it's foil. We use the lids that come with this set, which keep the pans closed neatly and even allow us to keep a pair in ours fridge on top of each other. Again, the lids require a bit of care. Again, by design they're disposable, so they're not very durable. With a bit of care, however, we appreciate being able to portion our meals in such a convenient and stackable way.
