When looking for a sit/stand desk, I was arguing between several different devices. It had good reviews and was a lot cheaper than other popular brands. I decided to take a chance and I'm glad I did. Not sure what it's made of, maybe just molded plastic, but it's good quality, nice heavy steel brackets. It's easy to pick up, it takes a little muscle power initially to get the initial leverage to lift it, but it's not bad at all. This one goes straight up while the competitor has more of a gliding motion towards you. A colleague about 5ft 1in tried to pick it up and had no problem. I'm 5ft 6in and it's easy for me. I have two 27 inch monitors and a keyboard on them and it's not too heavy. . I like that it goes straight up and I'm close to my desk and don't move away from it. This is definitely a good buy, high quality product to save a lot of money compared to the competitor!
