We purchased an AWI-40 air washer on January 10th. Great thing, much better than an ultrasonic humidifier. With the function of humidifying the air, it copes with 5+. Before purchasing the sink, the air humidity on the hygrometer is 30% during the heating period, plus there is a carpet on the floor. With the air washer running at its highest speed, the air humidity now rises to 50% in an hour. With the window closed, the door to the room closed and the radiators adjusted to the minimum (slightly warm), the air humidity rises to 65-68% in a couple of hours. But usually we have a micro-ventilation window, in this case, the humidity is kept at 55% in the night mode of the sink, there is sweat on the windows. It is very comfortable to breathe, the mucous membranes do not dry out, the child's runny nose went away in a few days. Also, the sink cools the air a little (the fan blows out cool air) As for air purification from dust and ionization, I did not see much effect here. The first days the villi floated in the water, now everything is clean, we change the water and wash the pan every two days, add water every day. There is an antibacterial filter in the kit, we do not use it yet. The sink is very easy to operate: fan speed adjustment buttons, timer and ionization only. At the highest fan speed, the sink is noisy like a system unit; at night mode, it works almost silently. We are very satisfied with the purchase, natural hydration rules. From the ultrasonic humidifier, a nasty greasy white coating remained on all surfaces, although water was poured from the Aquaphor filter. You can pour ordinary tap water into the air washer.
