My son wanted his computer plugged in as it's better suited for gaming, but the modem was on the opposite wall in his open plan apartment. Due to the layout it wasn't possible to run an ethernet cable across the floor so I ordered a 60ft flat CAT6 ethernet cable and ran it from the modem to the corner, up the corner, across the ceiling in the other corner and onto the calculator. I used white tape to secure the cable so that it blended into the walls and ceiling as much as possible. This gaffer tape worked great for this purpose. Holds well, smooths out easily when sticking, peels off without taking the color with it. They forget that the cable goes through the middle of the ceiling very quickly because it's white on white. My son said he could use it to cover some of the cords that are visible on the wall under his desk as it worked so well.
