I prefer coffee in bulk because it tastes best and is most accurate and convenient, and filter #4 is right for my formula: 5 heaping scoops of ground coffee and 22 ounces of very hot water. Smaller paper bags cannot hold 5 scoops. Here's how I do it: I place the #4 filter in a #2 ceramic or plastic cone, dampen the paper filter, add 5 tablespoons of coffee into the filter, place the cone on the pitcher, and simply dampen the coffee grounds with warm water . Allow to steep for a few minutes, then slowly add the remaining 22 ounces of heated water to soak the coffee grounds. Let it sit for a minute or two for more infusion. Remove the cone from the jug, remove the paper filter from the used set and throw in the bin. Now all that remains is to fill the mug and enjoy. Pour coffee into a cup and enjoy.
