Review on ๐Ÿ”Œ 3DS LL Charging Dock Stand for Nintendo by Jeremiah Small

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Simple and practical charging stand

Excellent docking station. This is an OEM dock from Nintendo and works great; Simply connect the charger (not included) to the back. When you want to charge your 3DS XL, just place it in the dock and it activates some springs and shoots out the back to charge your device. The device has some cutouts and is positioned at the right angle. So if you want to play the 3DS while it's charging on the dock you can hold it, although it's a bit awkward. The package it came in was Japanese. It makes sense as I don't think it was ever made in America other than being exclusive to Club Nintendo. The dock itself has no Japanese markings, just voltage information and the Nintendo logo. You can see it for yourself in the attached photos. A few notes: - Obviously this only works for the 3DS XL. If you have a regular sized 3DS it will not fit and work properly. The pens do not charge the device through a standard connector. This comes in very handy if your charging port on your 3DS is broken for some reason (which is pretty common). - The charging station is supplied without a charging cable. I was hoping there would be a spare charger in the box for use elsewhere, but no luck. If your charger itself breaks down, be sure to carry a spare with this docking station. In general I am very happy with them. The non-Nintendo third-party options are about $5-$10 cheaper depending on where you buy them, but they seem to have issues (springs too strong, improper fit, etc.). If you are looking for a 3DS XL docking station in the market, this is the best option.
