What a great book! It has everything you need to knit beautiful scarves. Full-color photos are amazingly clear. Directions are accurate. The exact yarn used is indicated. It's also spiral bound so it lays flat and stays open right where you need it. The book begins with simple knitted scarves and then moves on to more complex stitches. Each new engraving is fully illustrated with color photographs. And the explanations are not at the end of the book. You are right after the direction of the scarf. Just turn the page and watch the new stitch being made. Yarn is listed by weight, quantity needed, brand and color. The threads listed are fine, but not required. You can substitute any yarn of your choice as long as it's the same weight. I'm guessing she specified the exact yarn so she doesn't get bombarded with emails and phone calls because the yarn is awesome. If you're looking for a great book on elegant, lightweight scarves, this book is for you. If you are a beginner this is the best book you will find on the market.
