High speed, no dropouts - should have installed this months ago!

I am not an experienced user. I just wanted my Wi-Fi to work since I "upgraded" (yes that's right) to a new Windows 10 laptop, I couldn't stay connected. I was afraid to click a link, fill out a form, or do anything that might upset the cosmic balance of my Wi-Fi. Our house is old with solid wood walls etc and the location of the router is not optimal for where I spend my computer time. We also have a few WiFi routers in our area, but I don't know if they cause interference or not. I tried the range boost gadget which helped some but as of Win10 the connection has remained extremely finicky. I saw a detailed review of a Wi-Fi router on YouTube and this Buffalo did well. Yesterday I installed this Buffalo N600 with no problems. I just added it to a port on my existing WiFi DSL gateway/router, effectively giving me 3 different channels. The original gateway router still runs through the range booster and is indeed showing a stronger signal than the N600, but since I connected to one of the N600's channels I've had no dropouts at all - none! And the paging speed is refreshingly fast. My only regret is that I can't return all the heartache and troubles I've experienced over the past year. I should have installed this router a long time ago.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Can be damaged
