I used some of these to lower the loop cameras down a few inches to give the cameras a better view under the eaves. Since installing security cameras typically requires three different setups, these ball mounts make installing the cameras easier. Set the cameras to approx position and then fine tune with the ram mounts. It's really nice when you're the old man on the stairs and finally old enough to respect the height. Should have used these mounts when I was on a 12 story crane, using ram mounts would have been nice, quick and less scary to adjust the camera. I used a Rams ball mount which was oversized for lightweight cameras, but even in strong winds the cameras don't shake at all. From now on I will mainly deal with Ram's material for mounting radios in cars, boats and other vehicles, as well as some other cameras.
