Finnex listened to their customers. The newer version 2.0 fixes everything that was wrong in the first version. The LED is waterproof, the power supply is made of a better material and the light is now fully CC like the CC model. The only difference is that the wavelength of red light is not 660 nm. If you make a 24/7 adjustment, each increase and decrease changes by 10% according to the manual. Sometimes that's not enough. Because early in the morning or late in the evening, you can only adjust the brightness of white light to 2-3% because 10% is too bright. I've found that holding down the button lets you reduce the brightness to less than 10%, but you have to release it quickly before it hits zero. It took several attempts. I hope in the future they develop a bluetooth remote control/app similar to Fluval 3.0 so you can adjust the lighting settings to within 1% if you want. I have both lights and love the Fluval app for adjusting the settings, but Finnex has a lot more settings and times to tweak. I also like the Finnex legs better, they elevate the light above the tank and allow you to light more of the tank! I bought the 48" version and it has over 2 20g tanks sitting next to each other. I use user mode 24/7 and love it. I also think it's good that you can switch it off completely at night and only have a blue light. (Moonlight) whenever you want.
