Might work well for a phone but not for a small tablet or GPS.

I use this for GPS, the clamping force is not that big. The GPS slowly slips left or right, so you have to constantly adjust it. At the bottom where you can install a GPS/phone, it slides back and forth to adjust the viewing angle. Unfortunately, after a week and a half of use, it won't stay where you put it. It might work for a phone, but I don't recommend it for a small tablet or GPS.
