Update August 2014 " out. This is a dangerous development as anyone (kids) can now turn the handle all the way to the hot water lock position. I know MOEN is guaranteed for life but the thought of opening this thing up again and installing a new one gives me nightmares that I will live with this override setting not working properly since all our kids are out of the nest two stars.It's just not the best design and the fact that it only lasted a year is terrible.The learning curve for setting up this unit (you have to set it in the hot and cold temperature range) was a bit steep for me DYI installation, but the printed instructions for setting the temperature range for this light (after installation) that Moen gives are s terrible. I've been online with Moen mi for hours (more than four days). I ended up having to be transferred to a technician and we had to send photos back and forth to interpret the drawings in the instructions. And eventually they concluded that the first mixing valve they sent was faulty (which is why I couldn't adjust the damn thing at all) and they sent me another one to put back in. But now that the unit is finally up and running I really like that I can set the water temperature for me or my husband THEN turn up the volume knob. If I want it even hotter, I can press the middle button and move the upper limit down a bit. Those are all pluses. Why Moen does NOT provide youtube videos to help DIYers install is beyond me. Even Whirlpool does it with refrigerator filters. I gave this device a three because it had horrible instructions and had to start over with a different support person every time you called Moen. DON'T ORDER A SPECIALIST who can then ask "Well, how did it go?" the next time you call. NO! You have to start over with a freshman. My advice to dyers: call Moen from the start when installing this unit. Make sure you understand the numbered diagrams and pictures before you begin setting up your installation. If needed, send photos to a representative (they have separate email accounts for accepting photos) to clarify your questions about pictures in recommendations. Much luck!
