4 mil make these bags thick. Secure zippered closure system. I use them to store electronic components with connectors that can poke through thinner packaging. Measured with a micrometer, the layer thickness is usually a little thinner. On a number of bags I've purchased, one bag of bags has had a slight yellowish tint usually associated with material that was either that color or was overheated during the manufacturing process.
