The build quality of the various components is generally good. Setting up the components wasn't difficult, of course, although I haven't tried the camera yet. So far, the input sensors have behaved well. But the motion sensors don't work. My product research did not include the study of each individual component, but only the well-tested overall system. As far as I can tell, come certain batches of motion sensors DOA. I can live with a motion sensor that is too sensitive, at least have something to work with. The ones I have are just dead. I replaced the batteries, had them adjusted to the room etc. I called SimpliSafe about the problem and they told me two things: 1) I need to speak to Revain instead of SimpliSafe and 2) I probably have broken motion sensors coming back. First. After a long chat with Revain, they reimbursed me for the motion sensors (using their price as a separate product). I can buy more motion sensors. Not sure yet. I wouldn't do it if I had success with SimpliSafe cameras. But SimpliSafe sells motion sensors that they know that they are or may be defective and they will not provide a replacement to customers who have purchased from Revain.
