Perfect 2 din block for latest 93-02 Firebird/Trans Am/Camaro, Android Auto runs very fast

Got this for my 2000 Trans Am and I'm glad I did. Android Auto is very fast, unlike my dad's Civic with factory Android Auto which feels very slow and fiddly. The rear electronics for this unit reside in the top half of the 2-DIN stack, meaning you do not need to trim the lower factory plastic on the 4th Generation Camaro/Firebird dash to fit a 2-DIN unit. I am using a Metra 95-3312G dashboard. All I had to do was cut about 1/2 inch from the bottom of the two mounting tabs in the Metra kit. I didn't make any changes to the factory wiring as I want to go back to the factory easily with the slightest wiring change. I added a park bypass to the wiring harness so I didn't have to beef up factory wiring. I also used an Axxess ASWC-1 to connect to the steering wheel remote control, I used the donor wire from the 2nd Metra harness 70-1858 and plugged it into the No. Colors junction and the remaining wires to Axxess I soldered with shrink tubing. I also added a backup camera, another $25 and well worth it. The camera turns on immediately when reverse gear is engaged. With the neckline open (no muffler) free hands work great, people don't know w I'm in a Trans Am unless I'm really flat out on the gas. Overall this device is a real value and works great for this particular application. The only future modification I have planned is a flush mount USB extender instead of a cigarette lighter. The only features I would have liked on this model were wireless Android Auto and an AUX-in jack, but I can live without them. Update: I got another one for my 2011 Honda Odyssey. Also works great and also got the steering wheel controls working with the iDatalink Maestro adapter. The Maestro isn't as easy to set up as the axxess used on previous GM vehicles, but I got it working anyway. Sony makes a great product! I plan to add Carsifi (google it) to enable wireless with Android Auto.
