I was glad to receive my new hard drive controller. Unfortunately, after connecting the device to the computer, the computer freezes when the device is turned on. It looks like it didn't even run the power-on self-test (POST). I turned off and on again. Same result. I took the card out of the PCIe x4 slot and put it back in. POST is still missing. This is a Gigabyte motherboard (model B360M-DS3H Rev. 1.0) - a fairly ordinary board, but when it was powered on it just looked at me. Instead of fiddling with it I just returned it for a refund. I'm sorry it didn't work.
