Talk about wanting to remove all traces of makeup and oil from your face. This product does. The smell was very unpleasant but I got used to it and as far as moisturizing goes, no. I have an oily face and using an exfoliant works, but too well. I find my face dry after using the scrub and let me tell you the oil doesn't come back for hours. I don't like it when my face is so dry, so I use a moisturizer half an hour after using the scrub. I also bought the lotion to match, but it doesn't really moisturize, it leaves a light powder when it dries because it's a matte lotion. I've tried makeup lotion but it stayed on my skin like a cake. I had to flush and start over. Everyone's skin is different, but overall, exfoliation works well because it leaves a very clean canvas.
