Egg-zactly What the Doctor Ordered

I decided on a "softer approach" to hand grip exercise after discovering to my chagrin that my left hand could no longer easily close the fierce, spring loaded beast I've owned for years. The combination of the egg shapes, other positive reviews, and three different hardness levels added up to enough to convince me to try the Friendly Swede's Eggs.or.wait, did that come out right? At any rate, I really like these egg shaped exercisers. True, my hand is large enough to make me yearn a bit for "longer eggs", but that issue was easily solved by squeezing not one but two eggs at once, the red/pink (medium) one tucked into the palm and the yellow (soft) one getting happily and repeatedly squished between four fingers and the other egg. I'm not using the blue (hard) egg yet; I like squishy. They're effective, too. Despite using them rather sporadically (lousy focus and attention span), I just checked--and was able to completely close the old springy beast without straining at it. Additionally, by using the softer eggs, I'm getting thank you notes from the tendons in my palms, which were rather abused by the hard, springy hand gripper. And finally, they arrived quickly after being ordered, and they were well packaged. It doesn't get any better than that.

Pros
  • The squeeze ball grip strength exerciser promotes hand therapy to increase hand strength and flexibility
Cons
  • May not be appropriate for all age groups
