I bought this pH meter thinking it would be easier than my current testing method. Unfortunately, since I only need to test every now and then, this tool doesn't seem to fit my scenario. The supplied pH calibration powders did not match the instructions which appeared to be copied from another device's documentation. In addition, each of the two calibration values was only represented by a small batch, sufficient for one calibration cycle. Since the instrument needs to be calibrated when left unused for a long period of time (as instructed) and since I will only be using it intermittently, I will need to purchase and store extra calibration powders before next use, this is another problem than I need for my goals. Although this device is actually calibrated and works well enough for my first use, I will end up not using it again. A more reliable instrument that doesn't require manual calibration is certainly better suited for any scenario that doesn't involve regular use. However, if you check pH regularly (or if you already have calibration powders that match the requirements of this device) it seems like a good deal for the money. Great for some, but definitely not for all.
